Consultation and thorough treatment plan

During the first visit, patients’ dental health will be checked and studied, and a treatment plan will be put together if necessary.
After a thorough check-up, the dentist will give feedback about the current situation of the patient’s oral health. After the condition of the teeth is known, the dentist will explain ways to improve the patient’s dental well-being. Solutions will be found for specific dental problems, or the entire mouth.

We have all diagnostic tools necessary for diagnosing and compiling treatment plans:

  • Digital 2D panoramic X-ray (Kodak/Carestream) with 2D Plus options, which aside from taking x/ray pictures of teeth, can also produce images of the jaw’s joints in order to diagnose possible deformations.
  • Intraoral digital x-ray to image individual teeth.
  • Intraoral camera for photographing and showing patients the condition of their teeth on a large screen.

We save all photos and x-rays in our digital photo library to have them available for future consultation.
Our personal treatment plan also includes suitable schedules and payment terms for patients, in addition to thorough explanations of their treatment plans. Payment by installment is available to cover fees.

Dental disease prevention

Regularly visiting your dentist is very important, because it gives the opportunity to keep track of and improve the condition of your teeth. These visits provide great feedback about patients’ oral hygiene habits and methods, and their effectiveness. Overall health and lifestyle is also a key part of maintaining healthy teeth. Timely treatment is essential when having problems with teeth.
Having cavities is a sign of a bigger problem – usually tooth decay. To prevent dental disease, we carry out regular check-ups with patients, in which we examine the mouth and take X-rays if necessary. We give recommendations for obtaining healthy teeth, and teach the correct ways for taking care of your mouth, as well as introducing the best tools for achieving that goal. We also give advice about healthy diet choices.

Emergency first aid

We offer first aid for toothache, dental trauma, infections, inflammation, and other urgent situations. We will find out the cause of the ache and also the severity of the problem. We invite patients needing first aid in during the same day if possible.

For the fastest answer, we advise calling +372 672 0097, so we can provide instructions on how to act until getting to the doctor and how to preserve the tooth.

Dentistry

The most common reason for visiting a dentist is cavities, which are cured by being filled with different materials. For smaller defects, we use composite materials, which are based on composite resin and also known as the most common “white seal/filling.” With more extensive defects, we recommend using ceramic and golden inlays made in dental laboratories. These inlays are accurate, long-lasting, durable, and wear-resistant. Ceramic inlays also will not change their color over the course of time.

Dentistry for children

KliinikPluss is an official contractor for the Estonian Health Insurance Fund, meaning that the fees for patients under the age of 19 will be fully covered by the fund. These patients only have to pay the visitation fee, which is 5€. Children under the age of 2 pay no fees at all.

It is very important to visit a dentist when a baby begins teething to ensure healthy teeth from an early age. During this first visit, the dentist examines the teeth, asks about diet and tooth care habits, and gives recommendations. If necessary, a panoramic x-ray will be taken to check for teeth alternation and possible defects that cannot be seen during a visual check-up. Hereafter children will be expected to come in for a consultation every 6 months.

Root canal treatment

The need for endodontic treatment, also known as a root canal treatment, usually emerge from untreated caries. Cavities, or caries, form on the surface of the tooth, and if not treated, it pervades the enamel and then dentine, layers, and reaches the nerve and blood-rich pulp.
Normally the pulp is sterile, meaning there is not much bacteria. When tooth decay exposes the pulp to a microbe-rich mouth, local inflammation will occur due to infiltration by the mouth’s microbiome.
Tooth inflammation can run very severely (with pain) as well as chronically (without pain). If not cured at the right time. In this state it is usually possible to see changes in bone tissue surrounding the tooth on an X-ray picture.
The purpose of endodontic treatment is to clean and widen the pulp chamber as much as necessary, and insure a leak-proof filling. For widening the root canals, we use special rotating nickel-titan needle instruments and for rinsing, different in-root disinfecting rinses.  At the end of the treatment we will hermetically fill the root canals with special filling and restore the crown part according to your treatment plan.
